Abstract
A high resolution shallow seismic survey in the area immediately offshore from Gunung Jerai (Kedah Peak) has revealed extensive granites, and a deep bedrock channel which runs northwest past Pulau Songsong. Although scanty drilling has not uncovered detrital tin deposits, neither the margins of the newly found granite, nor the bedrock channel have yet been investigated.
