Abstract
The hatching success of the river terrapin captive breeding projects in Perak and Terengganu were determined for the nesting season of 1985. The data were tested with the Chi-square test. There is a significant difference in hatching success between the two states X²=12.3, d.f. = 1, p >0.05). The hatching success for the 10-year period from 1976 to 1985 were also observed. For Terengganu, the hatching success fluctuated from 56 to 100 percent while Perak recorded success ranging from 31 to 69 percent.
