Abstract
A study of the distribution of edible-nest swiftlet (Aerodramus fuciphagus) bird houses using direct observation technique was conducted from Mac 2005 until December 2008. A total of 7,415 bird houses were recorded : 5788 (78.06%) houses were located in the East Coast, and the remaining 1627 (2184%) ) houses were located in the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia,7163% (5,311) of the bird houses were constructed in the urban area while 28.37% (2104) were found in the rural areas, More detail studies are needed to understand other issues in swiftlet nest management such as macro and microclimate condition of the bird houses and the diet of the edible-nest swiftlet.
