Abstract

Taman Negara contains most of the primates occuring in Peninsular Malaysia, but most of the informatIon about them has been derived from other forest. The various species of loris, macaque, langur and gibbon are described with comparisons of their ecology and behaviour and discussion of their conservation, in relation to protected areas, such as Taman Negara, and selectively-logged forests, managed on a sustainable-yield basis (for timber and other forest products).
