Abstract
Taman Negara is possibly the last stronghold of riverine game fishes in Peninsular Malaysia, of which 11 major species have been identified. The biology and current status of these species are reviewed. Descriptions of the angling techniques of these fishes are presented as guidelines for anglers. To improve the management of this renewable living resource, research areas in need of future investigations are identified and recommendations proposed to ensure that Taman Negara will remain an angling paradise for years to come.
